LIMPOPO DEPARTMENT OF HEATH TO HOST THE 2ND WOUND CARE AND MANAGEMENT CONFERENCE AT BOLIVIA LODGE

Limpopo Health MEC Dr Phophi will officially open the 2nd Limpopo Wound Care and Management three-day conference as part of the rural health matters outreach program from the 17th to the 19th May 2023 at Bolivia Lodge in the Capricorn District.

The wound care and management conference is an accredited CPD event , accredited by the by the University of Limpopo for Clinical and Ethics Points for HPCSA practitioners.

The main objective of this conference is to revive the continuous professional development of the health professionals in primary, secondary and tertiary Healthcare as well as to reinforce culture of research and promote multidisciplinary care, merging the gap in the clinical practice of the wound care. The main focus will be on a multidisciplinary and holistic approach on wound care management in acute and chronic wounds such as diabeticwoundsd, venous and arterial ulcers, burn, and pressure ulcers.

The conference is free to attend for the registered attendees. Seats are limited, and people who would like to attend are encouraged to register on time. No registration will be done on the day of the conference.

“Wound management involves a comprehensive care plan with consideration of all factors contributing to and affecting the wound and the patient. Remember, no single discipline can meet all the needs of patient with a wound, and as such a conference of this nature is vital to can revive the culture of research and promote multidisciplinary care in dealing with wounds within our health care professionals”, said MEC Ramathuba.
