POLICE POUNCE ON A DRUG LAB IN POLOKWANE AND CONFISCATE DRUGS WORTH ONE MILLION RAND
POLOKWANE: The Police in Polokwane arrested a 29 – year-old male suspect for illegal manufacturing and dealing in illicit drugs, and possession of suspected stolen motor vehicle on Thursday, 11 May 2023.
According to information, the police received valuable Information that led to the arrest of one suspect by the Provincial Crime Intelligence Narcotics Team and the Provincial Organised Crime Investigation Unit in a tactical operation conducted in the early hours of Thursday, 11 May 2023 in Polokwane .
The Police pounced on the suspect while he was packaging drugs in small sachets in his mini drug laboratory while more drugs were found in a vehicle in the same premises.
Drugs ranging from nyaope, crystal meth and rock estimated at the street value of one million rand and a suspected stolen
grey Volkswagen Polo R240 000 were confiscated.
The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe hailed the teams for a well coordinated effort.
” These drugs were meant to destroy innocent lives. We appreciate the cooperation of the law abiding citizens who continue to provide valuable information that helps us to root out drugs from our society”. Concluded General Hadebe.
The suspect will be charged with illegal manufacturing and dealing in illicit drugs as well as possession of suspected stolen motor vehicle.
He is expected to appear soon in the week before Polokwane Magistrate’s Court soon.
