COMMUNITY MEMBERS ARRESTED FOR PUBLIC VIOLENCE TO APPLY FOR BAIL

Six community members, five men and a woman have been arrested and appeared in the Warrenton District Court. The accused are charged with public violence and the arrests emanated from the community protests, where members of the community near the town of Warrenton, barricaded the N12 National Road as well as roads leading in and out of the town.

The woman was released on warning and the five men have been remanded in custody until their next court appearance. The case has been postponed to 30 January 2023, for bail information as well as possible bail application.
