SAPS CELEBRATES ITS MEN AND WOMEN IN BLUE AT THE SAPS ANNUAL NATIONAL EXCELLENCE AWARDS TO BE HELD IN POLOKWANE
PRETORIA, 23 JANUARY 2023; The South African Police Service( SAPS) will celebrate its men and women in blue at its annual national excellence awards.
The awards ceremony which will be held in Polokwane, Limpopo, aims to celebrate and honour both operational and administrative employees including reservists who have gone beyond the call of duty to serve and protect the people of this country.
As a precursor, a number of build-up activities will be held during the week long celebrations.
The SAPS Career Expo will kick-off at the Seshego Stadium on Wednesday, 25 January 2023. On this day, various experts from the SAPS divisions and units will showcase the various careers and expertise which exist within the organisation.
The SAPS Golf Day will follow on Thursday, 26 January 2023. The Golf Day aims to raise funds for the children of members who died in the line of duty. Various organisations will tee off to raise funds whose proceeds will be utilised to fund our fallen heroes and heroines children.
On Friday, 27 January 2023, members from all nine provinces will gather to celebrate National Police Day. In celebrating this day, the country and the SAPS top management acknowledge the outstanding contribution and the sacrifice the our men and women in blue make in their quest to ensure a safe and secure South Africa.
In the morning of the awards ceremony, the leadership of the SAPS will handover a newly built home to a family that is in need of shelter.
In attendance will be the Minister of Police, General Bheki Cele, the Deputy Minister of Police, Mr Cassel Mathale and the management of the SAPS led by the National Commissioner of the SAPS, General Fannie Masemola.
