National Police Day (NPD) and National Excellence Award (NEA

Thousands of men and women in blue will descend to the province of Limpopo from 25 January to 29 January 2023 to reset , recharge, take charge and plan for the year ahead. A number of activities will take place from the 25th at Seshefo stadium. This which career day is aimed at showcasing the various units and expertise within the service. Community members and learners are encouraged to come and interact with various experts to learn a thing or two about the South African Police Day. On the 26th, a fundraising Golf Day will be held to raise funds for the children of police officers who died in the line of duty. On the 27th , the SAPS will celebrate a day which is celebrated annually in the SAPSS calendar. It is a day which was approved by Cabinet in 1995, as National Police Day. The will be celebrated at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.

In celebrating this day, the country and the SAPS’s management acknowledge the outstanding contribution the police make daily in their quest to ensure a safe and secure South Africa

This year, the day will be celebrated, under the theme: Reset, Recharge, Take Charge! Encouraging Innovation and Rewarding Excellence.

On the 28th, the men and women in blue will handover a newly built home for a disadvantaged family Lastehool, Ga-Molepo outside Mankweng.

On the same day, the national excellence awards will be held at the Rach Hotel outside Polokwane where the organisation will honour and celebrate outstanding service of both operational and administrative employees.

The Minister of Police General Bheki Cele and the Deputy Minister of Police, Mr Cassel Mathale will be joined by the SAPS top management led by the National Commissioner General Fannie Masemola.

The nation salutes the men and women in blue who took the oath, and continue to lift the country’s National Flag and abide by the Code of Conduct to serve and protect with pride.
