A WIFE TO THE LATE LEGAL AID ATTORNEY APPEARS IN COURT FOR MURDER

A 42-year-old, Dorah Zwidofhelangani Manwadu has made her first appearance in Thohoyandou Magistrates’Court in connection with the murder of her husband, Mbambadzeni James Manwadu (46), an attorney attached to the Legal Aid South Africa in Thohoyandou. Initially, Tshianeo Munyai (30), Pfunzo Lidzebe and Nemakhavhani Ndalamo (22) made their appearance in connection with the same murder.

It is alleged that on 16 January 2022, Manwadu arrived home and while getting out of his motor vehicle to open the gate, he was approached by the accused persons, who shot and killed him. Tshianeo Munyai and Pfunzo Lidzebe are linked to the murder case of Collins Chabane Mayor and will be making their appearances in Limpopo Polokwane High Court, for trial on 29 May until 15 June 2023. Munyai is linked to other several cases committed between 2020-2022, for robberies with aggravating circumstances whilst Nemakhavhani is also linked to several cases of housebreaking, robberies and theft committed around Thohoyandou.

The matter is postponed to 02-03 February 2023 for the bail application of the three accused and for the legal representative of Dorah Manwadu. The accused will remain in custody.
