DA to lay charges against Sekhukhune District and Lepelle Northern Water for officials for flouting legislation
Tomorrow, 24 November 2022, the DA Political Head for Citrus Valley Constituency , Lindy Wilson MP, will lay charges against Sekhukhune District Municipality and Lepelle Northern Water officials for their failure to contain raw effluent flowing from sewerage plants into rivers, ponds and water sources in several municipalities and the lack of a constant water supply to Ephraim Mogale Municipality.
DA oversights revealed that gross negligence and poor management by officials caused hazardous pollution and have deprived communities of a constant water supply for years.
We will not tolerate the violation of constitutional rights and the contravention of legislation any further.
