A MALE SUSPECT APPEARS IN NEBO MAGISTRATE’S COURT FACING CHARGES OF MURDER AND POSSESSION OF DANGEROUS WEAPON
POLOKWANE: A 22-year-old male suspect, William Amogelang Mahlangu, arrested for murder and possession of a dangerous weapon following an incident that occurred on Monday, 19 January 2026, at a residential address in Jerusalem Village, under the Hlogotlou policing area, appeared before the Nebo Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 20 January 2026.
The suspect was remanded in custody until 05 February 2026 for formal bail application.
The charges stem from an incident in which a 40-year-old male victim, who is related to the suspect, was fatally stabbed. Emergency Medical Services Personnel certified the victim dead at the scene The. Identify of the deceased is still being withheld pending further investigations.
The suspect was arrested shortly after the incident, and a sharp instrument allegedly used in the commission of the crime was recovered and confiscated.
