MALAMULELE POLICE ACTIVATE MANHUNT FOLLOWING MURDER OF FEMALE PRE SCHOOL TEACHER IN XITLHELANI VILLAGE

POLOKWANE – Police in Malamulele have launched a manhunt following the murder of a 42-year-old Zimbabwean female at Xitlhelani Village under the Malamulele policing area. The incident occurred on Tuesday, 20 January 2026, at approximately 06h00.

Police were summoned to the incident and quickly responded to the scene. Upon arrival, they were approached by the house owner, who pointed out the body of a female lying on blankets on the floor in a pool of blood inside a rented back room.

Emergency Medical Services Personnel were summoned and certified the victim dead at the scene. The deceased sustained a stab wound to the upper body.

The deceased’s identity is currently being withheld pending further investigations.

Preliminary investigations revealed that she was employed as a pre-school teacher at a local private school in Malamulele area. The deceased and her husband had reportedly rented the room a few days prior to the incident.

The deceased’s husband is currently nowhere to be found. Police are calling upon Ngonidzashe Sibanda, a Zimbabwean national, who is appearing on the picture to present himself at the nearest police station, as it is believed that he can assist police with the ongoing investigation.
