TWO MALE FOREIGN NATIONAL SUSPECTS BUST FOR POSSESSION OF ILLEGAL EXPLOSIVES ALONG N1 NORTH, POLOKWANE

POLOKWANE The Members of Polokwane SAPS International Airport have arrested two male foreign nationals aged between 45 and 50 for unlawful possession of explosives during their routine crime prevention operations along N1 North of Polokwane, Capricorn district during the early hours on Friday , 28 November 2025.

The vigilant members were busy conducting stop and search operation targeting illegal activities within their policing precinct, when they stopped a Toyota Quantum pulling the trailer with Gauteng province registration number plates.

The vehicle was from Zimbabwe, heading to Gauteng province in Johannesburg. The taxi with two occupants, including the driver, was stopped and searched. The following items were discovered and confiscated: Seven bags full of explosives,
2150 × connector fuse
40 x detonators cord
247 x bluster cartridges to the streets value amount of R2500.000.00

The two male suspects were immediately arrested and the explosives and the vehicle Toyota quantum and trailer were confiscated as part of investigation

The two suspects will appear before Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 01 December 2025, for possession of illegal explosives.
