Minister Senzo Mchunu Appoints Spokesperson Ahead of Madlanga Commission Testimony
Minister of Police, Senzo Mchunu, has appointed Sithembiso Mshengu as his official spokesperson to handle all media matters related to the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry. Mchunu’s appointment comes as he prepares to testify before the commission, which is investigating allegations of political interference and governance lapses within the South African Police Service (SAPS) and the judiciary ยน.
Mshengu, a seasoned political communicator and former ANC Youth League activist, will manage media queries concerning Mchunu’s testimony and broader political questions linked to the minister’s role. His appointment aims to ensure consistent messaging during this period of heightened scrutiny.
The Madlanga Commission has been probing claims of misconduct and governance failures within the Police Ministry, with Mchunu facing allegations of colluding with gang members and manipulating law enforcement.
