BREAKING NEWS: Eight Primary School Boys raped at a Soweto School

Gauteng Education MEC Matome Chiloane has strongly condemned the shocking sexual assault of eight boy learners from Khomani Primary School in Diepkloof, Soweto. The incident occurred on Monday when a grade seven pupil allegedly drugged the learners with a stolen bottle of cold drink, which was then used to facilitate the horrific crime.

According to preliminary reports, the grade seven pupil stole the cold drink from a local shop, drugged it, and gave it to the eight boy pupils. The learners were then taken to an adult perpetrator, who allegedly raped them at gunpoint. The suspect has been arrested, and the grade seven boy pupil was suspended from school pending a disciplinary hearing.

Department spokesperson Steve Mabona emphasized the importance of collective responsibility in ensuring the safety of children. “This incident is a reminder of the importance of our collective duty to ensure the safety of our children. We once again call on parents to work very closely with us to ensure our children are safe.”
