A 30 YEAR OLD MURDER SUSPECT APPEARED BEFORE MOHODI PRIODICAL COURT
POLOKWANE A 30-year-old male suspect, Phuti Katlego Kgosana, appeared on Wednesday, 14 January 2026 before Mogodi Periodical Court for murder at Mohodi Madikana under Mogwadi policing area. His case was postponed to Wednesday, 11 February 2026, for formal bail application.
On Monday, 22 September 2025, at around 21:00, the police received tip-off information about a male person who was murdered while at his residence at Mohodi village. On their arrival at the scene, the victim was found in the pool of blood with a gunshot wound. The preliminary investigations report suggest that the suspects called the victim and ordered him to come outside, but the deceased never responded. They kicked his doors open and started to assault the victim and his brother. In the process, the victim was shot on his upper body and the suspects left the scene with a bakkie.
The emergency medical personnel were summoned to the scene, and the victim was pronounced dead.
A case of murder was registered and transferred to the Provincial Murder and Robbery Investigation Unit. On Monday, 12 January 2026 at around 16:00, the Provincial Murder and Robbery Investigation Unit acted on intelligence driven operation at Moletjie Ga-Mabitsela, Chokwe, Ga-Setati, and Makibelo where the suspect was arrested at his hiding place. During the arrest, a white Chevrolet utility, which was used as a gateway vehicle, was seized.
