LIMPOPO PROVINCIAL COMMISSIONER ORDERS IMMEDIATE MANHUNT AFTER WELL-KNOWN SECURITY COMPANY OWNER FATALLY SHOT IN MANKWENG

POLOKWANE – The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, has ordered an immediate manhunt following the fatal shooting of a 43-year-old man, a well-known security company owner based in Polokwane.

The incident occurred on Tuesday, 16 December 2025, at approximately 23:30, at Mankweng Unit A, under the Mankweng Policing precinct in the Capricorn District.

Police responded to a report of a murder and upon arrival at the scene, discovered a white Ford Ranger double cab with Gauteng registration parked in the middle of the road. The body of a male person was found lying next to the vehicle. The deceased had sustained a gunshot wound.

Some of the deceased’s belongings were found inside the vehicle, including cellular phones and a laptop.

A case of murder was opened at Mankweng Police Station and has since been transferred to the Provincial Murder and Robbery Unit for further investigation. The motive for the killing is currently unknown, and no suspects have been identified at this stage.

Lieutenant General Hadebe has strongly condemned the incident and directed that all necessary resources be mobilised to ensure the perpetrators are traced and brought to justice.

Police investigations are ongoing, and a thorough probe is underway to establish the circumstances surrounding the murder.
