PAROLEE LINKED TO ARMED ROBBERIES NABBED FOR POSSESSION OF AN UNLICENSED FIREARM IN MANKWENG

POLOKWANE – A 44-year-old male parolee linked to armed robberies in the Mankweng policing area is expected to appear before the Mankweng Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 22 December 2025, on charges of possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

Members of the Limpopo Provincial Flying Squad were activated on Thursday, 18 December 2025 at approximately 18:45 following an Intelligence information regarding a suspect allegedly armed and terrorising the community of Manjane Village through armed robberies. The Flying Squad provided backup and, after a detailed briefing, operationalised the information.

Police proceeded to the identified address where the person of interest was found inside the residence. A search led to the recovery of an unlicensed firearm and six (6) rounds of live ammunition. The suspect was immediately arrested on the scene.
