PROVINCIAL ANTI SMUGGLING OPERATION STOP YET ANOTHER VEHICLE DESTINED TO ZIMBABWE
POLOKWANE The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has praised the multi disciplinary teams for their swift response which led to the interception of the reported stolen vehicle and the subsequent arrest of two suspects on Sunday 30 November 2025 .
The SAPS Limpopo Tracking Team joined by the external law enforcement, Shadowsecure security ,Tshimollo security and investigation as well as Tracker SA were involved in an Anti Smuggling operation this morning , Sunday 30 November 2025 .
They received an
Intelligence about a stolen motor vehicle that was being driven from Gauteng Province to Beitbridge via N1 freeway .
The ever alert operational team kept an observation and the vehicle fitting the description was seen on N1 north Polokwane next to the Mall of the North.
The operational team then stopped the vehicle and preliminary investigations revealed that the vehicle was stolen in Pretoria Central.
Two occupants, adult males,38-year-old from Zimbabwe, and a 43 year old Malawian national were inside the vehicle .
A case of possession of a suspected stolen motor vehicle was opened in Polokwane and the suspects will appear before Polokwane Magistrate Court on Tuesday 2025-12-02.
The recovered vehicle is a Toyota Corolla cross GR valued at R600 000,00.
General Hadebe has hailed the collaboration between police and the private security as well as other role players in fighting against the smuggling of vehicles across the country as well as borders
