POLICE INVESTIGATE FIRE INCIDENT THAT DESTROYED SEVERAL SHACKS IN HOEDSPRUIT POLICING AREA
POLOKWANE: The Police in Hoedspruit, under Mopani District, have launched an investigation following a fire that destroyed several shacks in the Plastic View informal settlement on Friday, 07 November 2025 at around 20:00.
According to the information received, the Police were alerted about the incident and immediately proceeded to the scene. On arrival, members found multiple shacks engulfed in flames, and the local Fire Brigade personnel were already on site attempting to extinguish the blaze.
Preliminary reports indicate that about 40 shacks were completely destroyed, while 10 others were spared from the fire. Fortunately, no fatalities or injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is not yet known and will form part of the ongoing police investigation.
