THREE MORE ARRESTED FOR DAWN PARK CASH-IN-TRANSIT ROBBERY TO APPEAR IN COURT

GAUTENG – Three suspects have been arrested in a follow-up in the cash in transit incident in Dawn Park a week ago with an unlicensed firearm and a motor vehicle recovered.

On Thursday, 11 September 2025, an operational plan was executed by an integrated multi-disciplinary team comprising of the Germiston based Hawks Serious Organised Crime Investigation working in concert with Gauteng Tracking team, Gauteng Traffic, Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) K9, JMPD TRU, Ekurhuleni Northern Region Task team, Brinant Group proceeded to Hebron in Brits area in the north- western Tshwane. Two suspect were arrested for the cash in transit robbery and murder relating to the Dawn Park case that occurred on 01/09/2025.

On further investigation, unearthed the third suspect who was in possession of an unlicensed R5 rifle with serial number filed off as well as two magazines with live ammunition.

The trio will appear in court on Monday, 15 September 2025, two appearing in the Germiston Magistrate’s court and the third is appearing in the Pretoria North court.

Kgomotso Zitha was granted R10 000 bail upon his appearance on the 10 September 2025 whilst his alleged accomplice, Andile Mabaso was denied and remanded in custody. Both will re-appear on 17 September 2025.

Further investigations are underway.
