BREAKING NEWS : Zuma Calls for Ramaphosa’s Arrest Amid Phala Phala Controversy
Former South African President Jacob Zuma has called for the arrest of current President Cyril Ramaphosa, escalating the political tensions between the two leaders. This demand comes amidst allegations surrounding Ramaphosa’s involvement in the Phala Phala farm burglary, which has sparked widespread controversy and calls for accountability.
The pro-Zuma organisation, Democracy in Action, is considering options such as making a citizen’s arrest or forcing the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) to pave the way for a private prosecution. This move is motivated by the perceived lack of willingness to prosecute Ramaphosa, with the organisation’s chairperson, Thabo Mtsweni, stating that they are exploring all available avenues to ensure justice is served.
The MK Party, aligned with Zuma, has also demanded Ramaphosa’s resignation and prosecution, accusing the current ANC leadership of betraying the party’s founding principles and exploiting the people it was created to liberate.
Ramaphosa has remained defiant, stating his intention to oppose any court challenge filed by Zuma ³. The situation continues to unfold, with many calling for transparency and accountability in the Phala Phala matter.
