SAPS HUNTS SUSPECTS FOLLOWING DEADLY SHOOTING AT LOCAL TAVERN IN DRIEKOP
POLOKWANE: Police in Driekop under the Sekhukhune District have launched a manhunt for suspects who shot and killed a 36-year-old man at a tavern in Maandagshoek, Sehlaku Village, on Monday night, 01 September 2025, at about 21:45.
Police responded to a complaint about a shooting incident at the tavern. It was reported that the victim had already been transported to a local hospital. Upon arrival, police confirmed that the victim had succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds.
Preliminary investigations revealed that two unknown suspects shot the victim before fleeing in his motor vehicle, which was later recovered in a nearby village close to a hardware store.
A case of murder has been opened, and the motive for the incident remains under investigation.
