THOHOYANDOU SAPS LAUNCHED A MANHUNT FOR AN AWAITING TRIAL PRISONER (ESCAPEE) ARRESTED FOR ROBBERY
POLOKWANE The Police in Thohoyandou under Vhembe District have launched a massive manhunt for an (awaiting trial prisoner), Muluvhu Gumani, 34 who allegedly escaped from a lawful custody on Monday 25 August 2025 at around 08:50.
The suspect was initially arrested for Robbery with a weapon other than firearm
The preliminary reports suggest that the police were transporting thirteen awaiting trial prisoners (suspects) to Thohoyandou Magistrate court, and while on their way, at robots intersection. one of the suspects allegedly forced the police vehicle door open, and fled on foot.
We are appealling to members of the community, not to attempt to apprehend the suspect for their safety.
