A 41-YEAR-OLD MALE SET TO APPEAR BEFORE COURT FACING FRAUD CHARGE, AFTER APPLYING FOR MINE JOB USING FRAUDULENT QUALIFICATIONS

POLOKWANE: A 41-year-old male suspect was arrested for fraud case on Wednesday, 13 August 2025, at Brits. He will appear before Northam Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, 14 August 2025.

His arrest comes after the complainant from one of the mines in Northam Policing area opened a case of fraud against him. The docket was transferred to the Police at Limpopo Provincial Commercial Crime Investigation unit for further investigations.

Subsequent to investigations, it was discovered that the suspect applied for a higher employment position at the mine using a fraudulent blasting certificate during August 2023. He was then arrested for fraud.

More arrests are expected as Police investigations unfold.
