TWO SONS ARRESTED FOR ALLEGEDLY KILLING
THEIR FATHER IN GA-MOTHAPO VILLAGE, MANKWENG POLICING AREA
POLOKWANE– Two male suspects, aged 29 and 32, have been arrested in connection with the murder of their 55-year-old father following a domestic dispute in Ga-Mothapo village, Tjatjaneng, in the Mankweng policing area on Saturday, 19 July 2025.
Police responded to a complaint of domestic-related assault at approximately 11:00 on Saturday morning. Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered the 55-year-old victim who had been severely assaulted and was unable to speak.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the deceased had been assaulted by his two sons following an argument. The suspects fled the scene immediately after the incident. The victim was certified dead upon the arrival at the local hospital.
Acting swiftly on the matter, police launched an intensive manhunt and successfully arrested both suspects at a hideout in a nearby village during the early hours of Sunday morning at approximately 03:00.
The two suspects are expected to appear before the Mankweng Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 21 July 2025, facing charges of murder.
Police investigations into the matter are ongoing.
