LEBOWAKGOMO POLICE INVESTIGATE MURDER FOLLOWING DISCOVERY OF SHEPHERD WHO WENT MISSING AND LATER FOUND BURIED IN A SHALLOW GRAVE

POLOKWANE : Lebowakgomo Detectives have launched a search for suspects following the discovery of a lifeless body of a shepherd who went missing earlier and was later found buried in shallow grave on the mountain at Nkotokwane village Ga Mphahlele on Friday 11 July 2025 at about 08h00.

According to information received a missing person case involving a shepherd aged 57 was reported on Wednesday 09 July 2025 in the morning . The shepherd who is also a Lesotho national went missing after he drove the cattle out to the grazing field.

A search was then conducted in the bushes until they ultimately found clothes he was wearing when he left, a blue overall, yellow t-shirt and other maroon stripped t-shirt.

Through the help of dog Unit, a search intensified and continued until they found the lifeless body buried in a shallow grave on the mountain.

The Emergency Medical Services personnel as well as Detectives attended the scene and the deceased was positively identified as the shepherd who went missing. His identity will be released in due course as part of the ongoing investigation.
