SWIFT POLICE ACTION LEADS TO ARREST FOLLOWING CASH-IN-TRANSIT ROBBERY AT JANE FURSE
POLOKWANE The police in Jane Furse have arrested one suspect and recovered a getaway vehicle following a brazen cash-in-transit robbery attempt at Jane Furse Hardware on Tuesday, 2 July 2025.
At approximately 15:21, three armed suspects approached a cash-in-transit vehicle collecting money from Jane Furse Hardware. The suspects, wielding pistols, confronted security personnel at gunpoint and disarmed one guard who was carrying a cash case.
A shootout ensued between the suspects and security guards. The perpetrators failed to obtain any cash and fled the scene in a white Toyota Avanza with Limpopo registration plates, with the rear registration number obscured.
Burgersfort detectives, working alongside Jane Furse Visible Policing members and the Sekhukhune District Task Team, immediately launched an intelligence-driven operation. The coordinated response led investigators to Tshehlwaneng Village, where one suspect was successfully arrested and the getaway vehicle recovered.
Three suspects remain at large and are considered armed and extremely dangerous. They are believed to have fled in a white Volkswagen Golf 6 with Gauteng registration plates.
