A 44-YEAR-OLD MALE ARRESTED FOR POSSESSION OF SUSPECTED STOLEN MOTOR VEHICLE AT BEITBRIDGE PORT OF ENTRY
POLOKWANE: A 44-year-old male suspect was arrested for possession of suspected stolen motor vehicle and fraud at Beitbridge Port of Entry ,Vhembe District on Monday, 16 June 2025 at around 15:30.
The suspect was apprehended at the Departure Vehicle Check Point, while he was allegedly attempting to smuggle the vehicle, a grey Hundai H1 out of the country to Zimbabwe through the Beitbridge Port of Entry. The vehicle was reported stolen at Pretoria, in Gauteng Province, on 2024-08-12. During the incident, he produced fraudulent documents of the vehicle, and an additional charge of fraud was added.
The suspect was immediately taken into custody and charged with possession of a suspected stolen motor vehicle and fraud. The vehicle has been seized as part of the ongoing investigation.
The Provincial Commissioner of Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, has welcomed the arrest and commended the members at the Port of Entry for being vigilant as they perform their duties.
The suspect will soon appear before the Musina Magistrate’s Court.
