MURDER ACCUSED MAKES HIS FIRST COURT APPEARANCE
A 39-year-old man, Mduduzi Trevor Mnisi, appeared before the Roodepoort Magistrates’ Court, facing one count of murder. The allegation relate to the murder of 14-year-old Lukhanyo Fose, whose corpse was discovered in an open veld at Durban Deep on 02 June 2025.
Fose had left her home on 31 May 2025 and never returned. Her mother alerted her brother, who had slept over at a relative on Friday, 30 May, after knocking off from work. On arrival back at home, the brother saw a message from the community group that a young girl’s corpse had been discovered. He went to the scene and requested to see the corpse and devastatingly discovered that it was indeed that of his younger sister.
The case has been postponed to 18 July 2025 for a formal bail hearing. The NPA condemns the brutal killing of Fose and will leave no stone unturned in its pursuit of justice.
