POLICE OFFICER APPEARS IN COURT FOR ALLEGED KIDNAPPING AND EXTORTION OF MISSING BLOEMFONTEIN TEENAGER

Bloemfontein, Free State – A member of the South African Police Service, Sergeant Nzima Philemon Adoons (42), has appeared before the Bloemfontein Magistrates’ Court following his arrest in connection with the kidnapping of 19-year-old Kamogelo Baukudi, a learner from Marti du Plessis School in Fichardt Park in Bloemfontein. The accused, who is attached to the South African Police Service, is facing serious charges of kidnapping and extortion. He was arrested after police investigations linked him to a police vehicle that was reportedly used in the abduction.

Kamogelo Baukudi was last seen on Thursday, 5 June 2025, when he was allegedly taken by two unknown men dressed in police uniforms. His whereabouts remain unknown, and his disappearance has caused widespread concern in the community. Adoons made his first court appearance on 09 June 2025, and the matter has been postponed to 13 June 2025 for bail information. The accused has been remanded in custody until his next court appearance.

The South African Police Service has confirmed that the investigation is ongoing and that the safe return of Kamogelo Baukudi remains a top priority.
