INTELLIGENCE DRIVEN OPERATION LEADS TO APPREHENSION OF A 27 YEAR-OLD MALE SUSPECT FOR POSSESSION OF UNLICENSED FIREARM

POLOKWANE : On Thursday 10 April 2025 at about 06:00, an intelligence driven operation was executed in conjunction with Sekhukhune District Tracing and Investigation Team focusing on suspects in possession of unlicensed firearms around Elandskraal policing area.

During the operation, a 27 year-old male suspect was identified while in police custody following an arrest of assault case committed on 02 April 2025 at Tsantsabela village under Elandskraal precinct.

The suspect was interrogated and admitted for being in possession of an unlicensed firearm that was allegedly concealed at his residence. A 27 year-old male suspect led the police to his residence at Tsantsabela village and a search was conducted.

During the search, one unlicensed firearm with ammunition was found and he was immediately placed under arrest.

The suspect is expected to appear before the Marble Hall Magistrate court on Friday 11 April 2025 facing a charge of possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
