LIMPOPO DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH INVESTIGATES ALLEGED INCIDENT OF REFUSAL OF MEDICAL CARE AT PRAKTISEER CLINIC

The Limpopo Department of Health has launched an immediate investigation into an incident that allegedly occurred on Friday, 28th March 2025, at the Praktiseer Clinic, where it is alleged that a two-year-old toddler, who was experiencing a nosebleed, was turned away by clinic staff due to the child’s medical file not being available. Sadly, the toddler is reported to have passed on before they could receive care in the next clinic which is approximately five kilometres away.

The Department has expressed deep concern over this alleged incident and is committed to investigating the matter fully to determine the circumstances so that it can determine the next cause of action. In addition, the department seek to reassure the public that the it remains committed to ensuring that all citizens, regardless of their circumstances, receive the quality healthcare they deserve.
