TWO SUSPECTS NABBED FOR POSSESSION OF DAGGA AND DEALING IN ILLICIT CIGARETTES DURING OPERATION VHUTHU HAWE CONDUCTED AT NORTHAM POLICING PRECINCT

POLOKWANE: Two suspects aged 27 and 31 were nabbed at separate locations for possession of dagga and dealing in illicit cigarettes during a joint Vhuthu Hawe operation that was conducted at Northam policing area on Saturday 22 March 2025.

Following an intelligence driven operation, the members of Lephalale K9 Dog Unit followed up on a male suspect who was in possession of dagga at Smashblock Informal settlement and rushed to the vicinity.

On arrival, a 31 year-old male suspect was searched and found in possession of dagga with an estimated street value of R500.00. He was immediately placed under an arrest at the scene.

Afterwards, the police proceeded to Northam RDP Block 2, and arrested a 24 year-old foreign national at a rental residence after he was found dealing in illicit cigarettes valued at R6000.

The suspects are expected to appear before the Northam Magistrate court on Monday 24 March 2025.

Police investigations are continuing.
