The EFF could have easily won in KwaZulu-Natal if its leader was Zulu. Sadly, many people in the province still choose leaders based on tribal identity rather than service delivery and good governance. This kind of thinking could push KwaZulu-Natal in the same direction as the Eastern Cape—where there are constant floods, rising crime, and growing unemployment.
Instead of focusing on real problems that affect people’s lives, attention often shifts to cultural displays—like polygamy, flashy outfits, Fabian caps, and gold teeth—while the province continues to struggle with serious issues.
