A 56 YEAR-OLD MALE SUSPECT NABBED FOR THE BRUTAL MURDER OF A NURSE IN LEBOWAKGOMO PRECINCT

POLOKWANE: The members of the Provincial Tracking Team together with Murder and Robbery Unit have arrested a 56 year-old male suspect whom it is believed he was responsible for the brutal murder of a 52 year-old female victim at Lebowakgomo policing area last month on 23 October 2024 at about 17:00.

The deceased, a nurse by profession met her untimely death while on the way to work at Lebowakgomo hospital. The victim succumbed to gunshot wounds sustained next to the gate of the medical facility.

Following the incident, a murder case was opened at the local police and immediately transferred the docket to the Provincial Detectives for further investigations.

On Wednesday 13 November 2024, an intelligence driven operation was executed that resulted in the apprehension of a 56 year-old male suspect at Lebowakgomo Zone A.

During the arrest, the suspect was found in possession of a police firearm with ammunition reported stolen at Seshego precinct during the month of June 2024. Police also seized a VW Golf 7 motor vehicle believed to be used in the commission of the crime.

The suspect who is related to the deceased identified as Mumsy Seribishane will appear before Thabamoopo Magistrate court on Friday 15 November 2024 facing a charge of murder, possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

Police investigations are continuing.
