MANHUNT ACTIVATED BY MANKWENG POLICE FOLLOWING A FATAL STABBING OF A 21 YEAR-OLD MALE AT A LOCAL TAVERN

POLOKWANE: The South African Police Service in Mankweng have launched a manhunt of a male suspect following the brutal murder of a 21 year-old male at a tavern in Ga-Maboi village on Sunday 28 April 2024 at about at about 18:35.

The Police received a complaint about a murder incident at the village and quickly rushed to the vicinity. Upon arrival, police found a group of people surrounding a 21 year-old male victim who was lying on the ground next to a white Ford Ranger.

The victim was bleeding and sustained an open wound on the neck. The members of the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) were summoned at the scene but certified the male victim dead upon their arrival.

Furthermore, the owner of the tavern informed the police that the murder suspect was his niece, who is residing in Makotopong village.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the deceased and suspect had a fight that resulted to his untimely death through a stabbing on the neck. Afterwards, the suspect fled the scene on foot to evade arrest. The deceased was positively identified at the scene by his mother as Abathabe Remember Baloyi, a resident at Nobody, Thakgalang village.

A manhunt of the known suspect is currently underway and police request anyone with information that can assist with investigations to urgently contact the Investigating Officer, Sergeant Solomon Malemela on 0767498403 or crime stop number 0860010111 or nearest police station or MySAPSApp.
