THOHOYANDOU FCS INVESTIGATE RAPE CASE AGAINST AN ALLEGED MENTALLY CHALLENGED FEMALE
POLOKWANE- The Thohoyandou FCS (Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences) Unit are investigating a case of rape against a 36-year-old woman who is reportedly, mentally challenged. The incident took place on Sunday, 21 April 2024 at Thohoyandou block G.
According to information, the victim’s female neighbour, called her to her house, whereby she allegedly forced her into a garage and let her Zimbabwean male who is working at her house to rape the victim.
Complainant in this matter, alleged that her domestic worker informed her that her granddaughter was raped. They reported the incident to the Police on Tuesday, 23 April 2024 and a case of rape was registered. The male suspect is currently on the run and the police have launched a massive manhunt.
The Provincial Commissioner of Limpopo SAPS, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has condemned the incident and called upon community members, guardians, parents to protect the vulnerable groups against criminals and report them to the police.
