HAWKS RE-ARRESTED CASH-IN-TRANSIT ACCUSED
Limpopo-The Polokwane based Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation have re-arrested a 55 year old cash-in-transit accused at Klerksdorp in the North West Province on 28 February 2024 for alleged contempt of court.
It is alleged that the suspect (contempt of court) is one of the seven (7) accused who were arrested for cash-in-transit that occurred on 28 May 2018 at Ga-Matlala village outside Polokwane.
The accused were arrested at Seshego and they were successfully linked to the cash-in-transit robbery.
During the arrest, police confiscated Toyota Hilux, Ford Kuga, rifle, ammunition, explosives and money bags.
During 2019, the accused were released on bail of one thousand rand (R1000) each and given the next court date. However, the suspect never set his foot in court again.
As a result a warrant of arrest was authorised against him. He was traced and nabbed at Klerksdorp Magistrate Court.
He is expected to appear before Polokwane High Court tomorrow, 01 March 2024 to face a charge of contempt of court.
