LEPHALALE REGIONAL COURT CONDEMNED A 37 MAN TO SIX YEARS IMPRISONMENT FOR POSSESSION OF STOLEN VEHICLE
POLOKWANE: The Lephalale Regional Court convincted and handed down a sentencing of six years imprisonment to Happy Moyo aged 37 for possession of stolen motor vehicle, on Thursday 08 June 2023.
The court found that, on 09 February 2023 Happy Moyo (37) and the other suspect who was not linked to the case, were driving in a black Toyota Hilux, when the Police stopped and searched the said vehicle at Groblersburg Port of entry in Tom Burke Policing area.
During the search, Police noticed that the vehicle was tempered with and the owner of the vehicle Happy Moyo did not have valid documents .
The two were immediately arrested. The docket was assigned to Warrant Officer Mafiwa NKwana of Modimolle Vehicle Crime Investigation Unit (VCIU) for further investigation.
The accused Happy Moyo was then found guilty and convicted for possession of stolen motor vehicle by Lephalale Regional Court. He was sentenced to six years imprisonment.
The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has warmly welcomed the sentencing and praised the arresting team together with the investigating officer for ensuring that criminals have no space to operate in the Province.
