INTERPOL FUGITIVE APPEARED IN COURT
WESTERN CAPE- 55 year old Maren de Klerk appeared today, 02 June 2023 in Paarl Magistrates’ court following a joint operation by the Hawks Serious Commercial Crime Investigation and Interpol after his arrest under an Interpol red notice yesterday.
It was established that De Klerk a complainant in a matter under investigation by the Hawks Serious Commercial Crime Investigation is a fugitive from justice being sought by the Namibian authorities to stand trial for racketeering, fraud, corruption and money laundering after an arrest warrant and extradition notice were authorised by the Paarl Magistrate in 2022.
The case was postponed to Monday, 05 June 2023 to determine the bail application date.
