THE PROVINCIAL ORGANISED CRIME UNIT NAB TWO SUSPECTS FOR EXTORTION IN LWAMONDO AGAINST CONSTRUCTION COMPANY
POLOKWANE The Provincial Organised Crime Unit and Thohoyandou Tactical Response Team, also known as TRT have arrested two male suspects for extorting money, from the subconstrution company in Lwamondo village in Vuwani Policing area.
On Friday, 13 February 2026, at approximately 11:00, members of the Provincial Organized Crime Unit received a complaint of the four suspects who disrupted the construction project installing WIFI infrastructure. The alleged suspects driving in a Toyota hilux bakkie with Limpopo province registration number allegedly demanded 30% shares from the construction company with condition that failure to comply the company must stop the installation. The members operationalised the information, and the suspects were traced and found and they were subsequently arrested. The motor vehicle they were driving was also seized as part of the ongoing investigation .
Both male suspects aged 42 and 43 will appear before Vuwani Magistrate’s court on Monday, 16 February 2026, facing charges of extortion .
The remaining two suspects are still at larger, and investigation continues
