COMMISSIONER CONDEMNS ONGOING DOMESTIC VIOLENCE FOLLOWING FATHER FATALLY SHOOTING SON AT HA MUTSHA LEVUBU POLICE AREA
Polokwane The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has strongly condemned the ongoing domestic violence related incidents in the Province .
The condemnation follows the incident in which a 17 year old was allegedly fatally shot by his 53 year old father at Ha Mutsha village Tshitandani in at on Levubu policing area under Vhembe District on Sunday 2025-10-19 at about 06:17
It is alleged that police at Levubu received a call of a shooting incident in which man shot his son and attempted to take his own life by turning the 9mm pistol on himself at his homev, Ha mutsha Tshitandani.
The police quickly went to the scene and on arrival they found a male laying on the ground in the pool of blood and was still alive and next to him there was a hand gun. Several catridges were found around him. Further investigation led the Police inside house where they found the young male estimated to be 17 years old lying on bed with bullet wounds on the head .
It is further alleged that the 53 year old suspect who is also a member of SANDF based outside Mookgophong was taken to Hospital for medical treatment under police guard
The motive behind these incidents is currently unknown, but the domestic voilance cannot be ruled out since they were staying being two in the house.
