THOHOYANDOU AWAITING TRIAL PRISONER WHO ESCAPED FROM POLICE CUSTODY RE-ARRESTED
POLOKWANE The Thohoyandou Police under Vhembe District have re-arrested an awaiting trial prisoner who escaped from Police custody earlier in the week . Muluvhu Gumani, 34 allegedly escaped from police lawful custody on his way to court on Monday 25 August 2025 at around 08:50.
He was initially arrested for Robbery with a weapon other than firearm
The suspect was re-arrested on Wednesday 27 August 2025 at Waterval policing area at his hinding rental place.
This after police received an information which they accurately followed when they conducted an Intelligent driven operation.
The suspect will appear before Thohoyandou Magistrate’s Court Friday 29 August 2025, facing charges of escaping from lawful custody and robbery with a weapon other than firearm.
