A WARRANT OF ARREST ISSUED FOR TEBOGO MABOA AFTER AN ELDER MAN WAS MURDERED, FOUR OTHER SUSPECTS TO APPLY FOR BAIL
POLOKWANE : The South African Police Service in Sebayeng under Capricorn District sought assistance from members of the community in locating and arresting a 22 year-old male suspect responsible for the murder of a 59 year-old male victim.
It is reported that during the month of July 2024, the victim was at his residence in Sebayeng location when he was attacked and strangled to death by five suspects comprising two males and three female suspects.
The suspects allegedly demanded a payout l lumpsome cash money the victim had just received following a motor vehicle accident. The deceased seemingly failed to comply and was strangled by the suspects who fled the scene on foot afterward.
A murder case was opened and police commenced with the investigations that subsequently led to the apprehension of four suspects last year December 2024.
A 22 year-old male , Tebogo Maboa popularly known as “Lepai” managed to evade an arrest and has since been on the run. It is suspected that Tebogo fled to Gauteng province and might be hiding in Alexandra, Edenvale or Olivenhoutbos location.
The four suspects consisting of one male Wilson Mashao Malatji (24), Tebatso Mahakwana (23), Flora Mabitsela (39) together with the mother of a 22 year-old suspect, Kate Maboa (41) have appeared before the Mankweng Magistrate court on Friday 17 January 2025 facing a charge of murder.
The suspects were remanded in police custody and the matter was postponed until Tuesday 28 January 2025 for formal bail application and further police investigations.
