A 42 YEAR-OLD MALE SUSPECT DUE TO APPEAR BEFORE COURT IN CONNECTION WITH AN ALLEGED RAPE OF A 20 YEAR-OLD FEMALE VICTIM
POLOKWANE : A 42 year-old male will appear before the Seshego Magistrate court on the 20 January 2025 facing a rape charge committed on Wednesday 15 January 2025.
Preliminary investigations indicated that a 20 year-old victim left with a friend of the landlord to consume alcohol at Ladanna Industrial area outside Polokwane. A 42 year-old male suspect unexpectedly raped the victim inside the motor vehicle.
Following the incident, a 20 year-old victim was released and reported a rape case to the local police station.
Seshego Police together with Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS) executed an intelligence driven joint operation to hunt down the suspect
On Friday 17 January 2025 at about 08:00, police suddenly received information about location of the suspect who was busy with carpentry duties at an identified house in Zone 5H.
Police rushed to the premise and immediately placed a 42 year-old male suspect under arrest.
Police investigations are continuing.
