The presidential debate between the Vice President, Kamala Harris of the Democrats and former President Donald Trump of the Republican was worth to watch in order to understand their plans. It started off with Harris being nervous, unable to crack the ever energetic vocal Trump and then gain momentum as the debate progresses.
Trump initially seemed taking the debate against Harris as the walk on the park until he stay put on the history. He was lazy to outline the plans and preferred to say he got ideas. He dwelled on criticizing incumbent President Joe Biden with his administration, former President Barack Obama and also debate mate Kamala Harris. They are both from Democrats and paint them by the same brush of being weak leaders who regress the powerful US and its economy. Trump asked Harris that she is saying all the plans and why can’t she implement some of them now as Vice President to prove that she cares about Americans?
Kamala Harris took off nervourness and spectator mask to square off a good debate which changed the Presidential debate. She raised all critical economic aspects and made her a better one to ascend the White House as a first female President. However, she struggled in regard with intervention to stop Russia-Ukraine war while Trump vowed that the war will be over as soon as he becomes US President again.
Africa must learn to minimise political parties and engage in political debate which gives electorates the perspective on their plans and direction for their respective communities.
