LIMPOPO POLICE RECOVER STOLEN VEHICLE FROM GAUTENG ENROUTE TO ZIMBABWE

POLOKWANE: Limpopo Police have successfully recovered a stolen Toyota Fortuner, believed to be en route to Zimbabwe for smuggling purposes. The vehicle, originally stolen from Sinovile in Gauteng, was intercepted by the officers from Provincial Flying Squad acting on a positive tip-off.

The recovery operation took place on Thursday morning, 25 July 2024, along Ndzedzedze road in Thohoyandou policing area, Vhembe District.

Upon noticing that they were being cornered, the unknown number of suspects sped off. A speed chase ensued, resulting in a shoot-out.The suspects managed to jumb out of the vehicle and fled the scene on foot.

The vehicle was confiscated as part of the investigation.

” This recovery highlights the ongoing efforts of our men and women in blue to combat vehicle theft and smuggling operations. We commend our officers for their quick response that led to the recovery of the vehicle,” said Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe.
