SIX SUSPECTS APPREHENDED FOR POSSESSION OF FIREARMS IN DENNILTON WERE REMANDED IN CUSTODY
POLOKWANE: The six male accused aged between 28 and 42 facing charges of possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition were remanded in custody until 30 July 2024 after they appeared at Moutse Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.One suspect also appeared on a charge of assault GBH.
The suspects were arrested on Sunday morning , 21 July 2024 in Matlala, Lehwelere village , where police recovered three firearms and ammunition believed to be linked to recent criminal activities in the area.
During a coordinated operation, the detectives and members of Crime Prevention responded swiftly to information about a suspicious vehicle in Kgobokwane village with six occupants and one who has been on run in connection with a case of assault GBH committed recently in May.
The suspects were arrested following a speed chase with the police.
