DRIVER FACING SIX CULPABLE HOMICIDE CHARGES RELEASED ON BAIL
The Mbizana Court has released Sanele Zinkwantshu (24) on R1000 bail after he was charged with six counts of culpable homicide. This follows an accident that took place on the R61 road between Mbizana and Mzamba on 21 June 2024, where six pedestrians were killed after they were knocked down by a vehicle allegedly driven by the accused.
The deceased, Siyavuya Sabelo (31), Sandiso Nkasa (30), Kamvelihle Dindi (24), Mvisiswano Ngaleka (24), Sibonelo Potye (29) and Mthokozisi Jabulana (29), were allegedly walking along the road when a sedan heading from the Mbizana, direction towards Mzamba plunged onto them. The driver was arrested on 23 June 2024, and made his first court appearance on 24 June 2024.
The court postponed the case to 15 July 2024 for further investigations.
