TWO MORE SUSPECTS ARRESTED IN THE PETRUSVILLE ALLEGED THEFT OF FIREARMS AND AMMUNITION CASE

NORTHERN CAPE- The law enforcement has made another breakthrough in apprehending suspects involved in Petrusville theft of firearms and ammunition case dated 06 November 2023.

Two civilians aged 44 and 41 were arrested earlier today by Hawks Serious Organised Crime Investigation team, Crime Intelligence and Kimberley Flying Squad in Free State.

Their arrest comes after complaint received from office of the Provincial Commissioner regarding theft of firearms and ammunition at Petrusville police station. A case docket was opened with the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation team for probing.

Firearms were later recovered in Senekal and Marquad, Free State where aOrefile Moshugi (42) was arrested then released on bail. This matter was taken to Director of Public Prosecutor for decision and it was concluded that five (5) suspects must stand trial for theft, and unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition.

Both suspects will be joining their co-accused Sergeant Olebogeng Samuel Molotsi (44), Sergeant Phokoile Thomas Plaaitjie (43) and at Petrusville Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 18 June 2024.
