LEBOWAKGOMO FCS INTENSIFY INVESTIGATION TO ARREST SUSPECT WHO POURED HER GIRLFRIEND WITH ACID AND RAPED HER IN THOKGOANENG VILLAGE

POLOKWANE- The Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offenses (FCS) Unit in Lebowakgomo intensify their investigation to arrest a male suspect who poured his girlfriend aged 44, with an acid on her face, raped her and thereafter hacked her with a panga injuring her on the arm, after they had a heated argument. The incident happened at Thokgoaneng Village in Ga-Chuene in the Lebowakgomo policing area on Friday, 07 June 2024, at around 21:30.

According to information, the victim had visited her boyfriend at his residence when the incident occurred. Following the ordeal, the suspect fled the scene. Police were notified, and they opened a case docket of rape and assault GBH.

Manhunt was immediately activated to track down the suspect.

Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has ordered the Lebowakgomo FCS investigating team to work tirelessly until the suspect is arrested. She further condemned the incident as gender- based violence is ongoing across the province. She called on community members to assist with information that can lead to the apprehension of the suspect.
