POLICE IN MALAMULELE LAUNCH MANHUNT FOR CARJACKING ÀND ATTEMPTED MURDER SUSPECTS COMMITTED IN JEROME VILLAGE

POLOKWANE: The Police in Malamulele near Giyani have launched a manhunt for carjacking and attempted murder suspects following the incident that happened at Jerome Village on 06 June 2024 at around 21:00.

According to reports, a 63-year-old male victim was with his friend in a parked vehicle, grey Toyota Hilux Double cab. Three suspects armed with firearms emerged and forced them out of the vehicle at a gunpoint. It is alleged that in the process, one of the suspects assaulted the victim with the firearm butt and further shot him more than once on the leg. They searched the victim and took his cellphones and money. Subsequently, they drove off with his vehicle.

Police and Emergency Medical Services were summoned to the scene. The victim was taken to the hospital, and a case docket of carjacking and attempted murder was opened.

Manhunt was immediately launched for suspects. The stolen vehicle was later found abandoned at Mukhomi village.
